Sunday at K & K’s Kitchen was one of those days where you just accept your fate and loosen the waistband a little.
Kim was in the zone and turned out three completely separate loaves that day: one plain sourdough, one Italian loaf with pepperoni and fresh mozzarella, and one Apple Cider Spice Donut loaf. Three loaves. Three very different personalities. Somehow, she managed to nail all three.
The Plain Sourdough
The plain loaf was soft, smelled amazing, and made some of the best toast I’ve ever had. Simple, classic, and exactly what good sourdough should be.
The Italian Loaf
This one may have stolen the show. Pepperoni, fresh mozzarella, fresh Italian oregano, and fresh rosemary right out of our garden turned it into something that could honestly be dinner all by itself. She nailed it.
Apple Cider Spice Donut Loaf
Moist, packed with all the right flavors, and dangerously easy to keep slicing. She nailed this one too.
All Three Loaves
The photos below are from all three separate loaves — the plain sourdough, the Italian loaf, and the Apple Cider Spice Donut loaf — not different stages of one loaf.

Kim is clearly perfecting her craft. I’m just over here doing my part by eating everything she makes. Sunday may officially require stretchy pants.
