Bites, Sips & Side Quests β Episode 2 β’ Carolina Beach, North Carolina
Forks & Detours
We rolled into Carolina Beach a little early for the VRBO and, after a whole lot of completely unproductive discussion about what to do next, finally decided lunch sounded like a pretty solid plan.
At about 4 PM. π
We ended up at The Spot Bar & Kitchen at 1006 Lake Park Blvd S in Carolina Beach and grabbed a big table outside. They accommodated our group really well, service was pretty good, and the cold beers showed up exactly when they needed to.
Most everybody landed somewhere around a po’ boy grouper sandwich, a flounder basket or a fisherman’s plate. The food was all pretty good and the prices felt about like what you’d expect at a beachfront restaurant.
Honestly, the best part was just sitting outside around a big table with the family, eating seafood, having a few beers and enjoying where we were.
There really wasn’t much to complain about.
Except the water.
$1.50 for water at the table.
What? π€―
Never have I ever seen a restaurant charge us for water at the table. That one still has me scratching my head.
The verdict
Water weirdness aside, it was a good experience. They handled our group well, the service was friendly, the seafood was solid, the beers were cold and the time with family was even better.
Would we go back? Yep. Just maybe bring exact change for the water. π
